  Regina Exhibition

The inaugural meeting in Regina kicked off in 1933, racing was conducted under the Regina Exhibition, which I think Americans call a fair. The track was a half mile oval, that had an open air grandstand with a seating capacity of 8,250. For the horses there were stalls for 450 runners. During the exhibition it looks like both standardbreds and thoroughbreds competed.

Over the years not much seemed to change at the Regina oval and it begun to show. It got to the point, where it really wasn't useable and on August 3, 1968 the last races were run. The track was quickly razed to make way for it's successor, Queensbury Downs.
