There are, were, many tracks in Ontario, more than any other province in Canada and Sudbury Downs had the honor to be the Northern most of them all. Probably the reason it doesn't exist anymore.

Sudbury Downs, opened in 1974 as part of the Ontario "B" circuit. It had the standard half mile oval with a glass enclosed four story grandstand. The second floor had inside seating and also included a lounge. The third floor housed the outdoor seating and the fourth would be the clubhouse with the major dining area. For the horses there were stalls for 136 in the barn area. The yearly feature at Sudbury were the Ontario Sires Stake Grassroots races. The track went out of business in 2013.

In 1999 a casino was added at Sudbury Downs. As of  2022 the track is still standing and the casino is still operating, but a new home for it has been planned. So who knows how long Sudbury Downs, will remain standing.
