Northlands Park
Northlands Park LogoOpened in 1925 as Edmonton Race Track, in 1964 the name was changed to Northlands Park. Thoroughbreds ran in the summer sandwiched by a spring and winter harness meet, making it an almost year round venue The track had a glass enclosed grandstand that provided 12,000 seats, in the clubhouse there were 1,000 seats and the dining room sat another 700. There was parking for 7,000 cars and stall space for 1,100 horses.
Winter HarnessAfter almost one hundred years the track closed in 2019, replaced by Century Mile Race Track, a little south in Nisku. When the track closed simulcasting and the casino were also shuttered..
