  The Fair With a Clubhouse!

Dayton Days Racing in Dayton, dates back to 1888, when the first fair was held in that city, harness racing was the sport of choice at that time.

At some point in time thoroughbreds and quarter horses took over the meet, which was called Dayton Days. The races were held at the Columbia County Fairgrounds, while the local fair was in session. It was your typical Northwest Fair Track with a small wooden grandstand looking over a half mile oval. The clubhouse!, that's across the street at the golf course.

2010 was the last year racing was held in Dayton, it was a two day meet that featured a mix of thoroughbred and quarter horse racing. In 2011 the State Racing Commission denied dates for the track and that looks like how things will stay.
