BIOGRAPHY |
Nancy Tillotta started her career on September 4, 1977 at the Three County Fair In Northampton, Massachusetts aboard a horse named Three Bidders. Before the week long meet was over she would get her first winner, riding Tiny Change to victory on September 10nth. She would spend the rest of the year in New England. Starting in 1978 she would ride at multiple tracks, before taking a break after the 1981 season.
When she returned in 1984, the Hazelton, Pennsylvania resident, looked like she wanted to stay close to home and became a fixture at Penn National until her retirement in 1993. Just eight days into the 1993 season Tillotta suffered serious injuries in a spill at Penn National aboard R D's Magic. She required extensive surgery which probably led to her decision to retire.
During her career it looks like she rode everywhere Pennsylvania and Maryland had to offer, she was also one of the female jockeys who had her own trading card.
