BIOGRAPHY |
Patricia Head, who prefers to go by Paddy, is a native of Canada, she would begin and end her career in her native country. Starting out at the old Blue Bonnets plant in Montreal, she rode her first race on June 4th aboard Check Carefully. I am not totally sure but 1973 might have been the last year for thoroughbreds at the Montreal track, so Paddy migrated South.
In 1974 she found herself at Suffolk Downs, where she rode her first winner, Test Red on July 7th. She would continue to ride in New England an some Pennsylvania tracks till 1977. Then it seemed she retired.
Eleven years later Paddy shows up in Washington State at the now closed Yakima Meadows race track, she will ride six horses there. In 1989 she will travel to Oregon, for one ride that year at Portland Meadows. Finally in 1990 she heads back to Spokane, for a few rides at Yakima Meadows, then returns to her native country to finish her career, at Assiniboia Downs in Winnepeg, Manitoba Canada. On June 1st, she would ride her final race, finishing 7th with Bobbie's Boy.
