Blue Bonnets was a five eights mile track that hosted both thoroughbred and harness racing, it was located on the outskirts of Montreal. It was a glass enclosed facility with a separate clubhouse and grandstand. Seating capacity was 6,000 in the grandstand and 2,500 in the clubhouse, the restaurant could seat another 600. The stables could accommodate 1,000 horses.

Simulcasting was year round and slots and gaming were offered in the tracks later years. At some point thoroughbred racing was discontinued and harness racing took over the track. In 1995 the track was taken over by the province of Quebec and renamed Hippodrome Montreal, the track started to incur losses and was shut down in 2009. Over the years the facility fell into disarray and was finally demolished in 2018.
