Miami Valley BeckonsMiami Valley Raceway is a five eights mile harness track located in town of Lebanon. The track is one of three new racino style facilities built in Ohio to replace older tracks, it is also the only one that remained in the same city as the original track. Miami Valley which has different ownership than the other two, seems a little glitzier on the outside but the racing model seems the same, with a glass enclosed grandstand that seats 1,000. There is also no stable area, so horsemen have to ship in here on race day also. The track which replaced Lebanon Raceway, opened to a large second day crowd in February 2014, but were powerless to get the track going on opening night.
Miami Valley LogoMiami Valley was scheduled to open on Friday, February 7th, but a lack of power caused racing to be cancelled. It wasn't a power outage, for some reason the power provider couldn't generate enough electricity to keep the facility running. The simulcast and gaming areas also were short on power, that must have hurt.
