Little Track On The Prairie !

North Dakota Horse Park Opened as a non-profit organization in 2003, North Dakota Horse Park was built to promote horse racing in the Fargo area. When the track first opened it ran for 15 days over five weekends, ending up on Labor Day. This schedule was in place till the end of the 2009 season when the track closed for financial reasons.

After being shuttered for two years, the small track made a comeback in 2012 with four days of racing over two weekends. Racing also returned in 2013, but the meet was cut to three days over one weekend. On the final day of racing an enthusiastic crowd set a new betting record at the Fargo Oval. Pleased with that turn of events additional days have been added for 2014, as track management feels their financial issues are behind them. The meet is highlighted by the North Dakota Derby and the North Dakota Futurity.
