Chippewa Downs has
reportedly been around since pari-mutual wagering was legalized in 1987,
with the first races run in 1989. It runs a weekends only meet during
mid June early July. The track features thoroughbreds, quarter horse and
mixed breed racing.
The track draws horses, and horseman from most of the Northwest United States and some Canadian entries. The track appears to have little trouble filling both stalls and races. The track also attracts a good number of tourists to the area, if you plan to be one of them, better bring your passport. If you end up missing a turn you could end up in Canada, This place is up there!
