The Blueberry Place to Be !
Union Fair LogoRacing in Union takes place at the Union Fair in late August. Union is located about thirty minutes east of Augusta. Racing is over a standard half mile oval, the grandstand is an open air structure. The highlight of the meet are the Maine Sire Stakes races.
Other than harness racing the Union Fair is known for it's Wild Blueberry Festival. Union runs one of the shortest meets on the Maine Fair Circuit.
In 2016 I made it to the site of the Union Fair, the track itself is off by itself at the back end of the fair. There is a small wooden grandstand with no sign of a tote board. No racing was going on, but it looked like they were getting it ready for the fair season,
