  Fair Racing L.A. Style!

dmr 77 Starting out as the Los Angeles County Fair racetrack in 1933 it was the first Southern California track to conduct pari-mutual wagering. It would later be known as Pomona and finally Fairplex by which it is now known.

Having a purse value index of 36 puts the quality of racing above many well known tracks never mind another fair meet. Lights were installed in the mid eighties for harness racing but it was short lived.

In 2011 Fairplex ran as scheduled but due to the economy and shortage of horses one less day was run. Martin Pedroza was the meets leading rider.

Fairplex which in 2014, now sports a purse value index of 41 which puts it on the high end for quality racing. This number could go higher as The Fairplex complex is being upgraded to cover some of the racing dates that were vacated with the closing of nearby Hollywood Park.
