  Kin Park

Racing in Vernon dates back to 1885, making it one of the first places in Canada to host horse racing. In modern times Kin Park was part of the  'B' circuit tracks in British Columbia.

Around 1996 pari-mutual wagering started at Kin Park. Over the years racing dates were increased and in 1991 the track ran the inaugural running of the Vernon Classic, with a value of $50,000. That was probably the high point in Vernon. In 2013, the last year of racing, dates were down to three cards. Days before the 2014 season, arsonists torched the grandstand causing the meet to be cancelled. Racing never returned to Kin Park and the facility was demolished in 2019.
